Area 53

• A structure has been established in A. A. to facilitate the communications required for A. A. to provide service.

• Within this structure, A. A. Groups are organized into Districts.

• These Districts are geographically grouped into Areas.

• There are 92 areas in the U. S. and Canada.

• Area 53 consists of the 38 counties in Central and Southeastern Ohio and these counties make up 42 Districts as depicted below. Notice that some counties are divided into more than one district and that some districts cover more than  on county. 

• The counties in Area 53 are shown with their associated district numbers in red.

Organization Name: Area 53 Assembly of the General Services Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous (Referred to as Area 53 assembly)

Purpose

1. To support the General Service Conference and it's members in their role as provider of A. A. World Services, and as guardian of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.

2. To elect, and support, a Delegate to the General Service Conference.

3. To provide communication and encourage unity within Area 53.

4. To assist in the development and communication of an informed group conscience.
